WELCOME TO THE RESIDENCY! 

Sit in and familiarize yourself with the research

tradition in the program!

Faculty will use the time spared for a brief

educational rendering on research designs and

statistics.

 1st

Year

 Presentation #1Feb, 

PRESENT RESEARCH IDEA 

Will share their choice of research project and

review preliminary design of the study.  Do take

time to talk to faculty about what your interests

are and illicit input before this presentation.

Year 

 Presentation #2Aug. 

RESEARCH PROPOSAL & INITIATE RESEARCH 

Present your well thought out research proposal with enphasis on research design and data collection logistics and some thought on statistical methods that may be used.

2nd Year 
 Presentation #3Feb. 

PRESENT MID-WAY PROGRESS ON PROJECT 

Present data collected and review any difficulties.  Discuss the statistical methods proposed for analysis.

Year 

 Presentation #4Aug. 

PRESENT PRELIMINARY MANUSCRIPT 

Data analysis should be in preliminary stages and the manuscript writing should have started.  Introduction, methodology, data synopsis, and preliminary anlaysis should be well on the way.

3rd

Year 

 Presentation #5Feb, 

RESEARCH SUMMATION PROCESS 

Present Final Data Analysis and a manuscript ready to receive final faculty critique.  This gives you ample time to make the necessary amendments to it.

This presentation serves as a practice run for the below mandatory research summation events:

*  NEOUCOM/P Resident Research Day
*  Aultman Resident Research Day
*  Manuscript of publication quality ready for submission
   and approval by Program Director and your mentor
   faculty.  Submitting your paper for publication should
   be aimed for.
 
Please aspire to make a poster presentation at the ACOG section meeting or other meetings your faculty may point you to.
